When I was a child and used to ask myself this question, what I wanted to become when I grow up? The answer was simple and I always responded back to myself that I want to be a 'good human being', little did I knew what that actually meant.
Years passed on and I never was able to understand the true meaning of that statement. Now when I have lived half of my life I bet I have figured out what it means.
A person who is true to themselves and to others. Who tries to be better than their previous self and also takes the same efforts to support others around them. One who is honest, kind, helpful and who wants to leave the world a little better than they first discovered.
In this discovery, I met a lot of people in my life and many taught me greatly about life and it's meaning. The one thing that was constant was that these people were the most kind, happiest and mindful people. Who acted from a place of kindness and love inspite of the fact that life was hard for them. So I started to observe them and learn from these great folks.
Life is nothing but a series of sufferings, we all experience it in some form or the other. What we don't want to accept is the fact that it is happening to us, the misery. We always question that such sufferings are not meant for us. If not for us then who should have them? Don't we all have challenges in our life?
While questioning these suffererings, I got many of my life's questions answered, discovered little wisdom, which I thought you should also know.
What makes our life meaningful is understanding that these suffererings are not permanent and this too shall pass. Like happiness, they are also short lived. Mostly they live in our mind and make us sad or anxious. If we just leave them alone and just be kind and patient with our selves and others, we would all become truly 'good human beings' and live a more happy and contented life.
Let me leave you with that thought while I am headed for my best life, exploring the wisdom of life. Are you too?
